William Pitt
William was born in Vienna, where he studied music and drama. He then worked as an actor and director in both theatre and radio and ventured into journalism.
Roaming around the world for quite some time, William finally settled in Australia. After doing a multitude of jobs and improving his English, he worked as a journalist and in television. Following this, he set up his own puppet company, which toured in Australia, New Zealand and Austria for nine years.
William retired in 2007 and devoted himself fully to writing. He has published three books of poetry, three novels, two non-fiction books and a book for children. Some of his short stories and poems have appeared in magazines and anthologies.
